About MAC Warm Teddy

MAC Warm Teddy is the richer sibling of Velvet Teddy, launched in the M·A·Cximal Silky Matte range. Where the original reads as a medium-light peachy beige, Warm Teddy pushes into cinnamon and terracotta — more heat, more depth, and a more pigmented matte pay-off.

It was built for people who love the Velvet Teddy vibe but find the classic shade a little grey, washed-out, or too light on warmer or deeper skin. The silky matte finish is designed to feel more comfortable than older flat mattes while still looking polished.

On the right complexion it is an everyday brown-nude with serious presence. On very fair cool skin it can look too deep or orange — which is why try-on matters before you buy.

Warm Teddy on different skin tones

Fair skin

Can read bold or orange — best if you want a statement brown-nude, not a soft MLBB.

Medium skin

Sweet spot for warm and olive skin — rich terracotta nude with clear warmth.

Deep skin

Shows up as a true warm brown-nude; Velvet Teddy often disappears here.

Warm Teddy undertone explained

Warm Teddy is firmly warm. Expect cinnamon, terracotta, and golden-brown notes rather than pink or mauve. If gold jewellery flatters you and peachy bronzers look natural, this undertone family usually works. Cool pink nudes (like Mehr) sit on the opposite side of the spectrum.

Who does Warm Teddy suit best?

Fair skin

Usually better on fair-warm skin that already wears deeper nudes. Fair-cool complexions often prefer Velvet Teddy or Mehr instead.

  • Best for: fair-warm who want a bold nude
  • Watch for: orange cast on very pale cool skin
  • Try on first — depth jumps a lot in photos

Medium skin

This is Warm Teddy’s home turf — especially medium-warm and golden olive. It adds heat without tipping into full brown lipstick.

  • Best for: medium-warm and olive
  • Effect: polished terracotta MLBB+
  • Great everyday work-to-weekend shade

Tan & deep skin

The extra pigment and warmth show beautifully on melanin-rich lips. Many deep skin tones find Warm Teddy more wearable than classic Velvet Teddy.

  • Best for: tan to deep warm undertones
  • Effect: visible warm nude, not chalky
  • Pair with soft brown liner for definition

Olive undertones

Often a better olive match than Velvet Teddy because the terracotta base fights ashiness and greying.

  • Best for: golden and warm olive
  • Effect: vibrant warm nude

Frequently asked questions about MAC Warm Teddy

What undertone is MAC Warm Teddy?

Warm Teddy is warm — terracotta and cinnamon rather than pink or beige-neutral. It stays warmer on skin than classic Velvet Teddy.

Is Warm Teddy darker than Velvet Teddy?

Yes. Warm Teddy is noticeably deeper and richer. Velvet Teddy is a medium-light beige nude; Warm Teddy reads medium-deep terracotta-brown.

Is Warm Teddy good for fair skin?

Only selectively. Fair-warm skin that likes deeper nudes can wear it as a statement. Most fair and cool fair complexions prefer Velvet Teddy.

Is Warm Teddy good for olive skin?

Often yes. The stronger golden-terracotta base usually complements olive better than beige Velvet Teddy, which can turn mauve or grey.

What finish is Warm Teddy?

M·A·Cximal Silky Matte — a pigmented matte designed to feel more moisturising than MAC’s older flat matte bullets while still looking velvet-matte on lips.
